My name is Meghan Laakso! I am a 27 year old teacher, baker, and poet in the Pacific Northwest.
I received my BA in English Literature and Writing Studies from Whitworth University.
I went on to receive my MFA in Creative Writing, Poetry from Eastern Washington University.
Most recently, I received my MA in Teaching Secondary English Education.
The name of this blog is inspired by a Jericho Brown poem, “Duplex (I begin with love)”. The full line is “I begin with love, hoping to end there”. This line has stuck with me through years of joy, hardship, questioning, heartbreak, new adventures and roles, and my everyday.
My intention for this blog is to explore what it means to be human. If one of my stories connects with you, feel free to share your own in the comments so we can be human together
This blog begins with love, and it hopes to end there.
